Chris Legleiter

Chris Legleiter grew up in Northeast Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University with degrees including his Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education and Masters in Education Administration. Prior to coming to Blue Valley, he taught and coached at Washburn Rural High School and St. Mary's High School.


Chris came to Blue Valley in 2003 and taught high school science for several years before changing roles from teaching to administration. He was an Assistant Principal and/or at both the middle school and high school levels before becoming the Principal of Aubry Bend Middle. He is proud to be the Principal of Aubry Bend Middle School and enjoys the opportunity to work with the staff and partner with the parents/guardians to provide the best school experience for every student. Chris believes a quality school is one where students and staff develop connections and classroom instruction provides academic challenges through relevant methods that help students develop the skills needed in the future. He also looks forward to helping each student find a school activity that they can become involved in and experience success.


Chris and his wife Julie have 2 daughters that keep them busy with many school-related activities. When he is not supporting the Wolverines of ABMS, he is supporting his daughters in their endeavors or spending time with his family.​

Nicole Orrick

Mrs. Nicole Orrick brings over 17 years of dedicated experience in education to her role at Aubry Bend Middle School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in English Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and furthered her academic pursuits with a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Baker University.

Mrs. Orrick's journey in the Blue Valley School District began in 2008 as an English teacher at Blue Valley Northwest High School. Following her passion for educational leadership, and after completion of her master's degree, she transitioned into the role of Administrative Intern at Aubry Bend Middle School (19-20). She served as the Assistant Principal at Overland Trail Middle School from 2020 – 2024. For the 2024-2025 school year, Mrs. Orrick is excited to return to Aubry Bend Middle School as the Assistant Principal.

Along with her husband Zack, who is also an experienced educator in the district, Mrs. Orrick is a committed advocate for the Blue Valley community. They take pride in supporting educational initiatives and are eagerly anticipating their daughter Sadie's entrance into 4th grade in the fall. Additionally, they recently welcomed another sweet little girl, Frankie, now 15 months old, to their family.

Mrs. Orrick believes in loving, accepting and celebrating all students regardless of background, treating everyone with dignity and respect, empowering individuals to excel, and prioritizing meaningful connections with all stakeholders. With these beliefs guiding her actions, Mrs. Orrick is dedicated to serving the ABMS community with pride, aiming for an exceptional school year of growth and success.
