Suzie Martin

Although I am a new face to the Liberty View Community, I am no stranger to educating elementary students.  While I started my work as an elementary teacher, my path took me into new serving opportunities including acting as a peer coach, vice principal and principal.  In each of these roles, I mirrored the student learning happening in the classroom with adult learning- studying how to make classrooms safe spaces to take risks, exploring how to motivate learning with high expectations, and how to develop caring, responsible students.

When I first stepped foot on the LVE campus, I immediately felt the warmth of a welcoming staff and excited faculty.  I believe all families get that great feeling of community through their daily greetings from teachers, while visiting the library, or joining in a spirit-filled PTO event.  This is at the heart of LVE- a caring, strong and bonded community who care about students, their growth and success.

I have a continuous open-door policy, but chances, are, you will find me in the halls, in the classrooms, or out in front greeting students and families during the day.  Do not hesitate to connect with me so that we can partner together for the benefit of your learning Eagle.

Along with my husband and three daughters, my family and I have enjoyed the adventures of Navy life as well as loved the Kansas City area and our family and friends who have lived here for years.  Now that LVE is my new home, I will enjoy getting to know all of you!
