      Summer Grocery Assistance Program

      SUN Bucks is a new program to help families buy food for their school-aged children during the summer. Families will get $120 for each eligible child to buy groceries during the summer.

      FREE Parenting Skills Class offered by Johnson County Mental Health

      Johnson County Mental Health is offering a FREE in person OR virtual set of parenting skills classes in June.  These 9 week sessions cover a variety of topics and are open to all Johnson County residents.

      LIEAP -  The Kansas Department for Children and Families are accepting applications for the LIEAP program from November 18, 2024 through March 31, 2025 till 5 p.m. The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) is a Federally funded program that helps eligible households pay a portion of their home energy costs by providing a one-time per year benefit.

      Angel Clothing Foundation -  Angel Clothing Foundation is a non-profit that offers free Boutique style clothing sizes infant to 3XL.  Clothing is distributed to low-income families in need, women leaving domestic violence situations, and the homeless.  This includes clothing, shoes, and accessories for men, women, and children. 

      The store is currently open Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:00 AM-4:00 PM at (420 S. Kansas Ave., Olathe, KS 66061) with no appointment necessary.  If you are in need of immediate emergency assistance 24/7, please call or text 913-208-5209.  Donations and volunteers are always welcome.

       

      The Strengthening Families Program is a family skill building program found to significantly improve parenting skills and family relationships, reduce problem behaviors, delinquency and alcohol and drug abuse in children and to improve social competencies and school performance.

      Tiny Pantry

      Tiny Pantry Times is a small, self-serve pantry offering free food and hygiene items. Open 24/7, it distributes an average of 12 tons of food each month and is regularly stocked from 8 AM to 8 PM.    http://www.tinypantrytimes.org/

      Renew KC Counseling Center is hosting a free parenting event for teens struggling with mental health on 10/2 in Leawood, Sponsored by The Church of the Resurrection (Foundry Bldg) from 6-7:45pm.       Health Partnership Clinic offers a range of medical, dental and behavioral health services through four clinics and at sites throughout the community. You are welcome at any age, with or without insurance.

      Back Snack Program- A variety of food items are provided weekly for the student to take home.

      Giving the Basics- Personal care items such as deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, soap, etc. are available in the school social worker’s office.
