ABOUT THE COUNSELORS

Blue Valley School Counselors are licensed educators who improve student success for ALL students by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program. School Counselors are vital members of the education team and maximize student success. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement, social/emotional development, and career readiness, ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.
How do you see your school counselor? Students or parents can stop by, email, call counselors, or fill out a form in the student services offices. Students can refer themselves, parents can refer their student, friends that know a student needs something can refer a student, and teachers or other staff members can refer students.
Examples of reasons Students would come to the counselor include, but are not limited to the following:- Having trouble with school/grades
- Conflict with friends
- Just need someone to listen
- Talk about your future/career planning
- Problems at home or getting along with family
- Feeling scared or worried about a situation
- Share and celebrate positive things
- Feeling overwhelmed
- Friendship issues
- Grief, loss and divorce
- Bullying and harassment
- Social/Emotional Issues (depression, anxiety, etc.)
- Foster self-awareness, acceptance, and diversity
