What happens after an application is submitted?
Posted by:Once submitted the application is sent to the interviewing supervisor. Applicants will be notified either by phone to setup an interview or by email stating the position has already been filled.

Posted by:Many criteria are reviewed prior to offering an applicant a position, including information contained in the file, background experiences, education, references, a criminal background check and responses received during the interview.

I have already submitted an application. Should I contact/stop by to meet the building principals?
Posted by:In fairness to the principals and applicants, you should not contact/visit the buildings without prior approval from an administrator in Human Resources.

At what point will certified applicants know if they will be hired and how will they be informed?
Posted by:The certified hiring process is ongoing from January through September. Applicants must first complete the online Teacher Fit screening interview. If you have been interviewed for a specific position at the building level, you will receive notification of your status when a candidate has been selected.

Does my educational experience make me too expensive to be hired?
Posted by:No. Blue Valley is looking for the best match of a teaching applicant to the available opening. We hire people with many years of teaching experience, as well as first-year teachers. Likewise, we hire teachers with bachelor's degrees as well as candidates with doctorates.

Is Kansas Licensure required to be hired for a classified position?
Posted by:No. The job description attached to each job posting gives detailed information about the requirements for the position.

Do I have to substitute in the district prior to being hired?
Posted by:While substitute teaching does offer you an opportunity to become more acquainted with the various schools and principals, it is not a requirement for hiring.
