Parents/Guardians can access Observer accounts to view grades, resources and activities posted in their child's courses. Blue Valley Elementary Schools use the Canvas Learning Mastery Gradebook which can only be viewed by observers using the Canvas web browser. Middle and High Schools use the Traditional Gradebook which is compatible with both the web browser (described below) and the Canvas Parent App. The Canvas Parent app can be installed on mobile devices (iOS, Android) to make viewing more convenient. Observer accounts can:

• View student grades
• Read announcements
• View the calendar
• See the course syllabus
• Access a list of assignments with due dates
• See online assignments, but not discussion posts
• Set up email or text notifications for announcements, assignments and more
